Our Story
1Brand Design was founded in 2009 by Mike Kotler after years of working as a creative director and designer. Inspired in part by his father’s path as an independent graphic artist, Mike built the company around a simple idea — combine strong creative with smart strategy and give clients work that not only looks good, but actually helps their business.
With a background in advertising from the University of Florida and experience spanning branding, web design, SEO, copywriting, marketing, and creative direction, Mike created 1Brand to offer a more hands-on and thoughtful approach. The focus has always been on clear communication, strong design, and making sure the final work feels aligned with the client’s goals.
Over the years, 1Brand has worked with a wide range of clients, including major financial brands like J.G. Wentworth, Peachtree Financial, and Colonial Penn, along with Chicago-area companies such as Feldco and Danley’s Garages. That range of experience has helped shape a practical, well-rounded approach to branding and marketing across both digital and print.
